It’s interesting that the flowers we take for granted take on entire new worlds and perspectives upon a closer look, and this photo is no different to that line of thought. Personally I just gotta love how the flower stretches its petals from a black void into a lovely display, like a butterfly softly flapping its wings as it gets a feel for where it has landed.

However, what also makes this one unique is that I can’t help but note the position of those droplets of water; practically right next to each other, on the edge of separate flower petals… A hopeless romantic could see it in some way as a metaphor; those petals know they can never meet and become one, but as lovers they promise to make a leap of faith together, which seems really appropriate.

Meanwhile, there’s the loner all the way to the side who never mustered the courage to declare their love.

While I first thought that the pink background would detract somewhat from the flower itself, it turns out that that’s not the case, since the flower is unique enough in both its shape and shade of pink to stand out more. Overall, this is a lovely close-up shot that can really tell a story if one’s prepared to look hard enough. Keep up the excellent work! :)
